The short version: BrainSpan does not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data. Everything you enter stays on your device.
BrainSpan (“the app”) is developed by OpenAffect (“we”, “us”, or “our”). This policy explains how the app handles your information. By using BrainSpan, you agree to this policy.
None that ever leaves your device. The app stores the inputs you provide (such as your age range, screen-time estimate, and app selections), your cognitive check-in results, daily logs, and score history locally on your device using the operating system’s on-device storage. This information is never sent to us or to any third party.
BrainSpan has no user accounts and no backend server. We do not receive, store, or have any ability to access your information.
The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. It does not use the Advertising Identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites.
BrainSpan can send local reminders — a morning check-in nudge and an optional evening note. These are scheduled on your device by the operating system; no notification data is sent to us. You can turn them on or off anytime in the app’s Profile tab, or in iOS Settings.
This version does not use Apple Health or Screen Time data. If a future version offers to connect them, that data would be read on your device only and would never be transmitted to us. We will update this policy before enabling any such feature.
BrainSpan is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Because all data is stored only on your device, you are always in control of it. You can erase everything at any time with “Replay onboarding” in the Profile tab, or by deleting the app.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
