Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

1. Introduction

OpenAffect (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform and services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, company details, and any content you submit through our application forms or workspace features. We also automatically collect certain information about your device and how you interact with our services.

If you use OpenAffect Studio, we also collect what you give it to make an ad: product photos, the claims and product details you type, your brand details from onboarding, and the finished videos we generate. We keep a record of each ad run (which presenter and script were used, what our checks found, and what it cost to make) so we can support you and keep our own books straight.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services, to communicate with you, to generate insights and recommendations, and to comply with legal obligations. For the Studio that means reading your product photo, writing and checking scripts, generating the video, emailing you when it is ready or when it did not work, and billing your plan.

We do not use your product photos or finished ads in our own marketing and do not use them to train models unless you agree in writing.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.

To make an ad, the Studio sends your product photo and text to the AI model providers we use: Anthropic (reading the photo, writing and checking scripts, checking the finished video), fal.ai and ByteDance (generating the video with the Seedance model), and OpenAI (generating the video with the sora model, where enabled). Photos and finished ads are stored on Vercel. Payments are handled by Stripe, which receives your billing details directly; we never see your card number. Emails are sent through Resend. Product analytics run on Vercel Analytics. Each of these providers processes your data under its own terms and only for the purpose we send it for.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Your Rights and Retention

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the details below.

You can delete a product and its ads from the Studio at any time. Deleted files may persist in backups for a limited period. After an account is closed we keep run and billing records only as long as we need them for accounting, dispute handling and legal obligations.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your experience on our platform. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date.
