300 reels read/11 rivals tracked/15 breakouts caught/one brief

Live run · Gold's Gym · 2026-09-20

01 · How it works

A handle goes in. A shot list comes out.

Four stages, and none of them ask you to know the answer in advance. Everything on this page came out of one run against a real gym chain and eleven reference accounts.

01

Map the category

Name your brand and Pulse proposes the accounts that actually set the pace in it, anywhere in the world. You edit the list. Local rivals post too rarely to learn from, so the reference set is the category, not the postcode.

02

Find the breakouts

Every post is measured against its own account's median, so a small brand's 30k breakout ranks beside a creator's 12m one. That is the difference between finding what worked and re-reading whoever is biggest.

03

Read why they won

Six frames across every winner plus whatever was said. Most breakouts have no speech at all, so reading the transcript alone would miss them. Pulse names the hook, the archetype, the format and the beat structure.

02 · The desk

Who is actually winning your category.

One row per account: the floor it posts against, how often it posts, how long its posts run, and which way it is moving. Sort by baseline and the ranking answers itself.

300 posts across 12 accounts. Baseline is median views per post. Trend compares the newer half of each account's recent posts against the older half, so a big account cannot buy its way up the column.

03 · The read

It tells you which three seconds did the work.

Every winner gets pulled apart the same way: what filled the first frame, what the viewer read, how long before the first cut, and the mechanism that held them.

The first frame poses an impossible-sounding claim, pilates at 1,800 feet, and the very next cut pays it off by placing branded mats against a window looking straight down on Toronto, so curiosity is resolved instantly and visually. The pointing hand in frame one physically directs the eye to the tower top, priming the reveal before any word is read.

04 · The patterns

Then it shows you what you are not making.

Counted across the winners and against your own last few months. The gaps are the point: the formats your category keeps winning with that you have never once posted.

22svs 42s

Median winner against this brand's median post.

10of 15

Breakouts whose hook was text on screen, not a spoken line.

9of 15

Carried almost no speech at all, so a transcript would miss them.

05 · The brief

Ten things to film, with the receipts attached.

Each concept names the posts behind it. That is what lets you defend it in a client meeting instead of calling it a hunch.

Agencies

One workspace per client, one brief a week, your logo on the report. Stop selling strategy decks assembled from memory.

Brand teams

The answer to "what should we post" stops being whoever spoke loudest in the meeting and starts being what the category did last month.

Operators

You already know your numbers. Pulse gives you everyone else’s, and the gap between them.

What it told @goldsgym

Gold's is running one playbook: a member talks about their journey for 42-60 seconds, or silent gym b-roll with no caption. It works modestly, DcQ2rKPkWqw hit 58,576 at 2.8x, but the account median of 21,249 sits below Planet Fitness (28,330), Barry's (39,873) and Orangetheory (45,336), all of whom are winning with 7-31s captioned formats. Stop opening with a spoken sentence and no on-screen text; 4 of your 5 posts require sound to make sense. Stop posting b-roll montages with no caption over them (Dbvo5N5iFZi, DZUusAuERe8), that format produced one winner out of fifteen, and cut the testimonials from three per five posts to one.

This brand's own best recent posts, ranked the same way.

Questions

Where does the data come from?

Public posts on the accounts you choose, plus long-running video ads from the Meta Ad Library. No login to anyone else’s account, and nothing private.

Do I have to connect my Instagram?

No. Pulse runs on public data from the first minute. Connecting your own account is optional and adds reach, saves and average watch time to your half of the report.

What if my category is quiet?

The reference set is the category anywhere, not your local competitors, which is what keeps a regional brand from being compared against four accounts that post twice a month.

How often does it run?

Weekly by default. Run it on demand whenever a client asks what is working.

Does it write the scripts?

Every concept comes with three hook options, a shot list and a script where the format calls for one. Pulse stops at the brief; what you film is yours.

Private beta
