Reflex · Brain health, measured

Your recovery score is missing an organ.

Whoop reads your heart. Oura reads your sleep. Neither sees the brain that runs both. A free 2-minute test gives it a number: your neural age.

The blind spot

Green recovery doesn’t mean a sharp brain.

Your stack is excellent. It scores your heart, your sleep, your recovery. It has never once scored your ability to concentrate. HRV reads your nervous system, and working memory lives somewhere your wrist can’t reach. On a morning your ring says 94, your focus can still be running on fumes. Every downstream organ has a number. The organ running the dashboard doesn’t.

Screen time in bed↑ boosts recovery

This is a real correlation one Whoop user’s own device reported: doomscrolling in bed, credited with better recovery.

The sensor did its job. It read a resting heart rate and called the night restorative. It just has no idea what those two hours of scrolling did to the organ upstairs, because nothing on the wrist can measure it.

The brain was not consulted. Reflex exists to consult it.

The warning label

Between 1966 and 2024, the feed earned a label.

TodayAverage time on one screen before switching: 47 seconds. In 2004 it was 2.5 minutes.Gloria Mark, UC Irvine

Here is what that does to a workday. Gloria Mark has spent two decades at UC Irvine with a stopwatch on knowledge workers. In 2004 her subjects held one screen for two and a half minutes before switching. Today they last 47 seconds. And once something pulls you off a task, her data puts full recovery at about 25 minutes. Check your phone a dozen times before lunch and do that math.

The label evidence is about teenagers’ mental health. The open question is about your attention. That question is measurable.

Step 1 · The baseline · Free

Find your neural age in 2 minutes. No headset required.

Five stages, one number: how your reaction speed and attention compare with people your age. Come in older than your birthday and you have a wake-up call. Come in younger and you have a share card worth posting.

“I want to be the strongest voice in your mind encouraging you to make health your top life priority. To remind you that you will be a better father, mother, brother, sister, friend, colleague, and human when you do so.”
Bryan Johnson, founder of Blueprint, the Don’t Die protocol. He also calls himself “certainly the most biologically measured person ever.” His brain is on that list. Yours takes two minutes to add.

You can’t train what you haven’t measured.

Step 2 · The daily number · App

Screen time tells you the dose. BrainSpan shows the effect.

Screen-time counters weigh the input. BrainSpan tracks the output: your attention, day over day, as sleep and the feed push it around. The nutrition label your content diet never had.

60 seconds a day

A daily check-in produces your Brain Health score, plotted against your sleep and screen time. You see exactly what your content diet correlates with.

Seven-day trends

Scores read as weekly trends. One rough night shows up as a dip in a line, and the line is what matters.

Your data, exportable free

Raw data is yours to export or delete, free, forever. No paywall between you and your own brain.

Step 3 · The gym · Hardware

You’ve tracked your body for a decade. Train your brain 5 minutes a day.

The Crown reads your brain’s electrical activity through dry EEG sensors, a direct signal that never reaches a wrist or a finger. You wear it five minutes at a time, like a workout, and the app covers the rest of your day. Session by session, you watch your attention respond in a way a checkup, an Apple Watch, or a Whoop can’t capture.

The science

How we score a brain, and what we refuse to claim.

A brain-age number with no visible science is a toy. So we show the work: what’s measured, what moves the score, and the published research underneath every claim on this page.

What the test scores
Reaction speed, decision speed, focus and impulse control, spatial accuracy, and working memory, all compared against age norms. That comparison is your neural age.
What the Crown adds
Dry-sensor EEG reads the brain’s electrical activity directly during 5-minute sessions. That signal never makes it to a heart-rate wearable.
What we refuse to claim
We name no diseases, promise no cures, and skip the phrase “clinically proven.” You get a fitness score for your brain, trended against your own baseline, and the methodology stays public.

Our science is informed by researchers at Sunnybrook and the University of Toronto. Their ongoing findings on how doomscrolling affects attention feed straight into the program.

They advise Reflex as individuals; nothing here is endorsed by either institution.

Straight answers

Your brain data is yours. Export it free, delete it anytime.

Is this a medical device?
No. Reflex is a wellness product: a personal baseline for attention and reaction. For medical questions, see a doctor.
Do I wear the Crown all day?
No. Five-minute sessions, like a workout. The BrainSpan app is the daily layer; the Crown is the gym.
What happens to my brain data?
It’s yours. Export it free, delete it anytime. We never sell it, and scores always read as trends against your own baseline.
Why $4,499?
The founding Reflex System is the full stack: Crown EEG hardware, the Reflex training app, and the ongoing attention program built with our research advisors. Founding units are allocated in order.
Who builds the hardware?
The Crown pairs proven EEG hardware from our manufacturing partner with software that is entirely ours: the training sessions, the scoring, and the attention program built with our research advisors.
What does reserving cost?
Nothing today. A reservation holds your place in line. We email you before anything ships or is charged.
